This unique set of workshops has an action/thought focus based on the science of the brain. Simple and straight forward: no misleading buzzwords or clever theories. You will come to depend more on your own innate abilities as an actor and become less dependant on "methods" or "theories" for acting.

Lewis Baumander
On-Camera Workshops: Monday or Wednesday 7-11
2-Camera Scene Study: Tuesday or Thursday 7-11

Teens 1: Sunday 12-3
Ages: 18 to 21
Cost: $315 + GST
Teens 2: Sunday 1-4 Taught by Lewis in collaboration with second teacher (TBA)
Ages: W - 14 to 17 yrs old M - 15 to 17 yrs old
Designed for young actors with some Film/TV experience or by Agent referral.
Session will include a meeting with Lewis, agents & casting directors to provide insight into what casting directors & producers expect from young actors in today's industry.

Georgina Reilly & Lewis Baumander - Drill Classes
Monday or Tuesday 6-10
Class taught by both, Lewis & Georgina as an introduction to Lewis' approach to the work, with heavy attention payed to "action drills" and creating emotional access through breathing.
Cost: $325+GST, ACTRA $300+GST
Michael Armstrong - Voice Class
Specifically designed for Film/TV acting
Saturday 11-2
This 8-week course is designed to help facilitate a clear simple connection between impulse and vocal expression, in a manner that will benefit the on-camera work. Through recognizing habitual vocal, physical, and emotional/psychological patterns, this course has as goal to aid the actor with his/her quest to simplify and clarify their access to what makes them a unique individual and performer.
Cost: $380+GST
David Ferry - Dialects
Sunday 6-9
Ferry's approach to dialect will be through scene work, integrating the needs/objectives of the character with his/her locality sound-wise. He will focus on five US accents (inlcuding NYC, Mid-West, Southern, and Boston) to help the actor be able to audition with confidence for specific projects.

David Tompa - Unscripted Acting
Tuesday 7-10
The student will explore a range of approaches to the idea of "acting without a script", using the given information about the character, the relationship, the narrative.

David Smukler - Accent Reduction

How to Register for Classes
In order to take a class with Lewis Baumander, we ask that you first come to audit. Once you have audited and decided that Lewis' approach is one that you wish to continue forward with, then we will get you registered in the class of your chosing.
